Advertising Policy

PlainVIN is free to use and is paid for by advertising. Here’s how we keep ads separate from the information.

• Labelled and separate. Every ad sits in its own box labelled “Advertisement”, away from buttons, forms, charts and data.
• Never on results or trust pages. VIN decode results, My Garage, search, error pages, the printable buyer’s checklist and our policy pages carry no ads. Pages without a reviewed summary carry none either.
• No influence. Advertisers don’t choose, review or change what we publish, and we don’t accept paid placements in our data or rankings.
• No sponsored content at this time. If that ever changes, it will be clearly labelled as sponsored.
• Ad provider. Ads are served by Google AdSense. See our privacy policy for how ad cookies and consent work.
